Cognitive-Friendly Technology Coaching

Extra-patient, structured teaching for stroke survivors and those managing memory or other cognitive changes — built on Michele's clinical background as a Registered Nurse and educator.

What this service is

A slower, more structured form of technology coaching designed specifically for people navigating memory changes, stroke recovery, or other cognitive challenges. Sessions use repetition, simple written cues, and shorter, more frequent visits — the same approach Michele used for years as a clinical educator working with patients relearning skills after illness or injury.

Who it's for

This is for stroke survivors relearning how to use a phone or tablet, adults experiencing early memory changes who want to stay independent longer, and families who've tried teaching a loved one themselves and found the frustration going both directions. It's also well suited to anyone recovering from a hospital stay or medical event who needs technology explained more slowly and revisited more often.

What happens during a session

  1. We start small

One task at a time — never a long list that adds pressure or overwhelm.

  2. We repeat, on purpose

The same step is practiced across multiple visits until it feels automatic, not just understood once.

  3. We use simple, consistent cues

The same words and the same visual steps every time, so nothing new has to be relearned each visit.

  4. We involve family, when helpful

Michele can coach a spouse or adult child on how to reinforce what was practiced between sessions.

How long it takes and what it costs

Sessions are typically shorter (30–45 minutes) and more frequent than standard coaching visits, since shorter, repeated practice works better for memory and stroke recovery. Contact Michele to discuss your loved one's specific needs and get a personalized quote.

"Michele is patient when teaching what can be simple tech problems without making me feel less then. Something as simple as which remote to use on the TV so my Netflix works. She is also comfortable coming to my place in assisted living and has gotten to know the staff." — Bob from Kensington
